On Tuesday, 9 December 2025, the city of Delft will glow with magic during Lichtjesavond — the 28th edition of this annual winter lights celebration. 
From around 16:00 to 22:00, the historic center (Binnenstad) becomes alive with a lights market, theatrical performances, choirs, and street music. 
At 17:30, the mayor reads a special children’s Christmas story and lights the big Christmas tree on the Markt. 
Stroll through illuminated streets, enjoy warm treats like hot chocolate, and soak in the festive atmosphere of this beautiful winter-evening event in Delft.
