Two distinctive choreographic worlds collide in L.A.V.A., an international collaboration between ICK Dans Amsterdam and Italy’s Compagnia Zappalà Danza. The result is an intense physical and sonic dance performance exploring what can emerge from difference, friction and contrasting ways of moving.
On stage, the dancers approach, clash and reconnect as a pulsating soundscape by Salvador Breed builds the tension. Like lava beneath the surface, the movement shifts between restraint and eruption, creating a raw and unpredictable performance centred on the creative force of friction.
Suitable for international audiences as the performance is dance-based rather than dependent on spoken Dutch.
